Personal Statement

Dr. Alyssa Austern is a licensed clinical psychologist in the state of New Jersey who specializes in working with adolescents/teens, college students, and adults. She received her Doctorate in Psychology at Ferkauf Graduate School of Psychology, Yeshiva University, and completed her pre-doctoral internship at Youth Consultation Services Institute for Infant and Preschool Mental Health. Her dissertation examined the relationships preschool children have with their teachers. She subsequently completed a post-doctoral fellowship working in public charter schools, performing behavioral support services, and conducting psychological evaluations.

Dr. Austern has an extensive clinical background, having worked in settings such as community mental health centers, therapeutic nurseries, adolescent residential treatment centers, psychiatric facilities, college counseling centers, and outpatient private practices. She creates a supportive environment and customizes treatment based on each client's unique needs.

Therapy can be an outlet to explore emotions and thoughts. I offer therapy services to adolescents/teens and adults who struggle with a variety of issues.
