Personal Statement
Dana "DJ" Spigener, MA, LMHC began his counseling career as an intern at an adolescent substance abuse recovery program, cementing his love for working with adolescents while also providing a context to practice counseling skills in a real-world setting. For his follow-up internship, he worked as a counselor at Chancery Charter High School, an alternative high school located in Orlando, FL. Upon graduation from Rollins College, DJ took a full-time position with Haven Recovery Center, a non-profit residential substance abuse treatment program previously located in Deland, FL.
After years of rewarding and insightful experience in this setting, he transitioned to Orlando Recovery Center, a new treatment center located near downtown Orlando, and worked alongside his peers to build their clinical program from an unknown start-up into a nationally recognized provider of high quality substance abuse treatment. His desire to work with a broad spectrum of clients from all walks of life, and to provide truly individualized and holistic care, brought him to Total Health Guidance in 2017.
