Personal Statement
I love what I do! I spend my days being a part of an amazing journey. Some days are filled with tears but there are many others with laughter, learning and growth. The human spirit is amazing and resilient, and I consider it a privilege to be invited into the life of each of my client’s. I know it can be intimidating to walk into the office of a stranger with the intent to share the most personal details of your life. I respect that, and I know that it is my job to earn your trust.
Quite often when we form addictive behaviors, it isn’t about the drug, food, or sex, but more about our need to alter how we are feeling in the moment. Therapy is a powerful tool to help you address the pain rather than resorting to numbing or escaping it.
Therapy can help teach effective life skills, but even greater, therapy can help you heal. Sometimes we need to heal from hurts or betrayals that occurred in our childhood, while for others it may be addressing more recent injuries or loss. Truly healing can rid us of many symptoms such as depression and anxiety.
