Personal Statement
Brittany understands that therapy can be anxiety provoking and sometimes a scary process, but making that first appointment is half the battle. She uses an empathic, genuine, and down-to-earth approach to create a safe, open, and non-judgemental environment that allows each person to identify and develop their own path in achieving their goals. This involves creating a therapist-client relationship that is built upon trust and respect. Her warmth and sense of humor allow clients to feel relaxed and have the freedom to be who they are. Brittany believes that each individual has their own unique story and tailors her approach to meet each client’s goals and personality by utilizing a variety of approaches.
Brittany has been involved in competitive athletics beginning at a young age. Her love of sports and being part of a team inspired her to further her athletic career by becoming a collegiate athlete playing softball at Benedictine University. During her stay, Brittany not only received her Bachelor’s Degree in Communication Arts, but also her Masters of Science in Clinical Psychology, with a specialization in Marriage and Family Counseling.
Holds a strong desire to work with couples, families, and individuals (specifically teens) who are involved in competitive athletics that may be struggling with stresses involved with being a student-athlete, have suffered from a career changing injury, or who are struggling making the transition from high school to college.
