Personal Statement

I have been licensed as a Licensed Professional Counselor in the State of Texas since 2017, but have been active in the field for almost 10 years. Co-Authoring research, working in locked mental health facilities to community health centers, I have learned much from those around me and the clients I have had the pleasure of helping. During this time I have developed a style that is cognitive behavioral therapy oriented but with the flexibility of using many tools from other orientations. It is my desire to use the skills I have developed in helping you find your way past the struggles you are facing.

Trauma has been a major focus of mine and this continues to be my primary focus within my Private Practice. Having experienced trauma first hand to working with a client base that is as diverse as the City of Houston, I see a great need in helping those that have suffered from trauma and helping them processing the event/s and learn to live life as a survivor and not a victim. Whether it was natural disasters like Hurricane Harvey or something more personal such as violence's, therapy has been shown to be a benefit to those individuals. With my experiences of working within the Combat Veterans population and Hurricane Harvey survivors, I have develop a style of therapy that can bring empowerment and self-awareness to my clients while allowing them the courage to face what's next in their journey.
