Personal Statement
The most important thing I need you to know about me and how I work is, that I believe Counseling to be a calling and I truly believe in the power of Therapy to change lives. I believe that talking about the things that hurt us provides us with the power to overcome them. As a Counselor I hear many sad and difficult stories and I pray for the wisdom and knowledge to know how to best be of service to my clients.
I have experience working with individuals dealing with depression, anxiety, grief and loss issues, co-occurring disorders, stress, and life transitions. I treat clients from early twenties through elderly helping them with behavioral issues, substance abuse, relationships, self-esteem, career counseling, spirituality, and women's issues.
My style of counseling is warm, interactive, and non-judgmental. I believe that the client is the expert on themselves. I combine Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Positive Psychology with other appropriate treatment modalities. I believe that incorporating therapeutic life skills and beliefs is a very effective approach to healing the challenges we face.
