Personal Statement

Are you feeling stuck? Are you not happy in your relationship? Are you sick and tired of being sick and tired? Well, you are not alone.

I love working with individuals re-write the story of who they think they are. Let’s face it, we all have our story. I know that I did… We carry that story around and allow it to influence our choices and relationships in life. The story that we carry around about ourselves and tell to ourselves is not true. However, since that is the only story we have known, we believe it to be true. Together, we can write the real and true story of who you are, which will, believe it or not, help in your relationships and choices in life.

I specialize in working with individuals who struggle with relationship problems, feelings of being overwhelmed, career, family matters, feelings of shame and unworthiness, anxiety/stress, depression and life transitions.

I work with couples with regard to communication issues, time management and relationship break-downs. I have received training in Gottman Level 1, which is a researched based approach in couples counseling. Additionally, I am an approved premarital counseling provider for Orange County and provide a premarital counseling package which focuses on relationship foundation, communication, family of origin and future marriage goals.

I utilize numerous approaches when doing therapy in order to meet each client's needs. I believe that the relationship between the counselor and the client is very important. I feel that real change can begin in an environment where clients feel comfortable being themselves. That is why I aim to create a safe environment where clients feel validated and understood.
