Personal Statement

I welcome individuals, couples (unmarried or married), and families of all backgrounds. I am a firm believer in the statement, "it's all about the relationships!" Connecting with others and building relationships is a basic human need. When relationships go awry, we hurt. When we shy away from others out of fear, we feel alone. I seek to mend relationships and bring confidence. I know that when my clients start to build better relationships with others (and themselves), things start to look up.

My original research on the implementation of community-based youth relationship education has been presented at local and national conferences. I have experience directly implementing relationship education programs targeted at adults and adolescents, and I have over 7 years of experience providing psychotherapy to individuals, couples, and families in a variety of settings. These include private practice, community agencies, and youth detention centers. I have advanced training in quantitative research methods and data analysis.
