Dr. Yvonne E. Holmes, LPC, DDP, MCC
Licensed Professional Counselor
I currently work as a Licensed Professional Counselor with Loving Touch Support Services, where I am the only licensed African American counselor in the area. In 2006, I received my Master of Arts in Christian Counseling from Andersonville Theological Seminary. In 2010, she earned a Master of Science in Mental Health Counseling from Capella University. To further my education, I enrolled at Jacksonville Theological Seminary, where I earned a Doctorate in Christian Counseling in 2017.
In order to stay current in my field, I am a member of the Licensed Professional Advisors Association of Georgia and the Council on Accreditation. I was a Desert Storm Family Coordinator for 17 years, working with 17,000 military and families, providing life coaching and directing them to other agencies within the military structure. My clinical approach encompasses, but is not limited to, Cognitive Behavior Therapy, Group Therapy, Client Centered Therapy, Dialectical Behavior Therapy, and Solution Focused Therapy. I am knowledgeable, open, and compassionate when it comes to the needs of others. Outside of the military, I have counseled military personnel (both men and women), women, men, and teenagers. Stress management, adjustment disorders, anxiety, behavioral issues with teenagers, anger management, Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD), depression, low self-esteem issues, surviving divorce, and other concerns are common.
My professional success can be attributed to my desire to assist others in reaching their full potential. It makes me happy to see others achieve their goals. I am empathetic and work to increase self-esteem in order to assist people in making long-term changes in their lives.
