About
I truly believe that a life of eudaemonia is attainable to all. Eudaemonia is a noun of Greek origin that translates into ‘human flourishing’, ‘a contented state of being happy, healthy and prosperous.’ During the past 19 years of providing counseling services to children, adolescents, young adults, adults, professionals and families, in individual, couple, family or group settings, I have encountered individuals who wanted to stop feeling their negative symptom, whether internal (thought, feeling, sensation), or external (behavior, verbal and otherwise). With me, you will learn to cope with your uncomfortable private experiences, you will learn the purpose of your behavior and you will learn to self-manage as well as relationship manage. Together, if you want, we can make you thrive in all areas of your life, including your relationships. If the problem in your relationship is about power and control (abuse of the mental, emotional, or physical types), couple therapy may not be adequate, appropriate or even safe for you. Please take safety measures if you are at risk. In a couple, it is rare that both people suggest couple therapy as a solution to their relational problems. Don't worry, you are not the only one. Relationships are complex and can be said to have multiple components that would need to be addressed. Let us say that a couple rests on three pillars: communication, intimacy (emotional closeness), and sex. You say, well what about respect, trust, boundaries, etcetera. They can all fit under one of these categories, trust me, and in session we will explore every component that makes your relationship work. You can learn to thrive together again. Or may be you are seeking couple therapy to consciously uncouple, and you understand that it is a process. I can assist with that as well. Remember that your couple is a system.
