About

Greetings and welcome. First, I would like to say that it takes a lot of courage to make this step to get help with life's experiences. Thank you for showing so much strength. Here's some information about me.

I have a Masters in Juvenile Forensic Psychology (2011) and am currently an Licensed Professional Counselor. During my collegiate career, I completed two internships in very different locations so that I could increase my range of experience across all age groups, identities, etc. I have many differences professional experiences in multiple entities. Believe or not, I taught science for 5 years. I also taught Intro to Psychology on a Collegiate level. I have worked in different centers both inpatient and outpatient. I have worked in Crisis Management so I have experience with assisting in calm times as well as in more intense ones. I have worked in offices, hospital ERs, inpatient and outpatient clinics, in jails and in the community. I have moderated anger management groups as well as worked with individuals on the same topic. My approach that of an eclectic style with emphasis on Cognitive-Behavioral therapy as I feel it is importance to understand the connection between our thoughts and behaviors. I have worked with many different populations and feel that I can provide assistance to a variety of clients.

Through my experiences, I was exposed to so much more knowledge and hands on training that allowed me to continue to evolve and build on my expertise. I have alongside other counselors, psychiatrists, and psych related staff to make pertinent decisions about patient's treatment plans. I believe my wide-range of experience and exposure has helped me to be a more versatile counselor. I am always looking for opportunities to grow and add more tools to toolbox for my clients. I consistently read literature on different therapeutic styles and join groups and professional organizations to stay connected to our ever growing community.

I believe in self-care and try to encourage my clients to always take care of themselves so that they are able to be whole and more authentically themselves. I feel that the better you are to self, the better you are able to be to your loved ones and others that you encounter. Counseling is a journey and I hope that I can assist you with becoming more self-aware and better holistically.

Like roses, life is beautiful but every rose has it's thorns. Let me help you work through those thorns and get back to enjoying life and simply smelling the roses.
