About

Hello! Navigating through life's challenges, at times, can be difficult. Finding a counselor where there is a "good fit" can be just as challenging, but this fit is essential to make the necessary progress in conquering life's challenges. Here is some information about me that will help you get to know me: My name is Trenia Allen, and I have been a licensed clinical social worker for over 20 years and have experience providing multicultural counseling to persons from various ages groups and from diverse backgrounds. I am skilled at helping persons work through depression, anxiety, post-traumatic stress, relationship issues, motivational challenges, and parenting challenges. Additionally, I also work with individuals who may be experiences compassion fatigue. I utilize solution-focused therapy, cognitive-behavior strategies, motivational techniques, mindfulness, and trauma-focused interventions.

My clients have reported that I am caring, empathetic, honest, empowering, and nonjudgemental. I treat all persons with dignity and respect. The relationship I have with clients is very important to me. I see my role in this professional relationship as one of a partnership to help you meet goals, to help you discover more about your inner strength, and how to utilize this strength to face and overcome challenges and difficulties. Empowering others is one of my best professional attributes. I believe every individual has the capacity to manage difficulties rather than allow the difficulties to manage you.

Your comfort level is very important to me as it relates to sessions. Therefore, whatever manner you are most comfortable with is how we will proceed: video sessions or phone calls or perhaps text. At some point, I think it would be helpful to do video sessions, only if it meets your comfort level. I am available during the evenings during the week, and weekends are flexible. I also check emails frequently and will respond within the same 24 hour period.

Based on what you have read, if you feel we can develop a partnership to manage issues and challenges, make those steps towards a fulfilling life, please feel free to reach out to me. I look forward to taking the step with you.
