Welcome new clients! I'm so happy that you reached out for help. I am Gail Walker, a licensed therapist. I have been married for 42 years to the same man and I have two adult children 1 male and 1 female. Our household is a cottage on the Mississippi Gulf Coast where we reside with our collie Vauna and our cat Bridgette. Counseling is something that I have loved doing for over 30 years now. Please know that I will be patient and understanding with where you are on your life's journey. I respect all religious and non-religious orientations. I am a counselor who happens to be Christian rather than a Christian counselor who specializes in Christian issues. So if you are not affiliated with any particular faith, that is not a problem for me. As a former teacher, I like to teach coping skills. I use cognitive behavioral therapy to help illustrate the relationship between mind, body, and spirit. Setting up a mindfulness practice is something that I introduce and invite clients to experience. The best part of the counseling relationship is mutual respect and the exchanging of information. Often I feel that I learn more from my clients than they learn from me.
