Welcome and congratulations in taking the first step to attaining your goals. My name is Theresa Weise and I have been a mental health and substance abuse counselor for over 10 years. My current role is working with college students, but I also have worked in the community with individuals from ages 14-75. My counseling theory is that each person is the best expert of their life, but sometimes life disconnects us from that. That is where I can come in to assist you in reconnecting to that knowledge. In my practice I have assisted individuals struggling with: depression, anxiety, trauma, LGBTQ concerns, self confidence and overall life satisfaction. The counseling modalities I most frequently use are: Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Solution Focused Therapy, Motivational Interviewing and Client Centered.
I have a very relational approach and utilize mindfulness to assist in gaining peace and tapping into ones own intuition.
