About

I am pleased to be able to introduce myself as you consider counseling to help you realize your personal goals to move forward in a positive and meaningful way. I am a professional counselor with a masters degree in Counseling Psychology. I graduated from Pittsburg State University in Pittsburg Kansas. I have extensive experience in helping individuals with disabilities and addiction. My professional goal will be to help you to achieve your personal goals of emotional well-being, productivity and to reach a rewarding lifestyle. I have always been a human rights advocate and have offered individualized counseling service that encourages my clients to have a driving voice in the course of their counseling. Your personal goals will set the priorities of our working partnership and I will support your progress to feel empowered and to practice self-advocacy.
I am experienced in working with individuals who have experienced obstacles in their lives that have prevented them from achievement of their personal goals. I am ready to help you to move forward to achieve personal goals that may include; healthy acceptance and adjustment in all areas of life that includes; health, family relationships, social interaction, education and employment activities. I am also experienced in addressing grief and loss issues that many people experience in the course of their lives.
I have found strong therapeutic impact with counseling skills that utilize Motivational Interviewing, Stages of Change and Mindfulness techniques that encourage a focus on the present to guide a positive plan for the future. I believe that a person can feel free to plan and to dream when the daily demands of life are managed most effectively without overwhelming stress. When there are pressing obstacles in life that overshadow personal effectiveness, counseling intervention can help you to reduce these obstacles!
I am ready to help you to achieve your personal goals and to encourage positive change in your life! Let's work together to help you move forward!
