About

Hello, I am Susan! I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor in the State of Florida and I have been helping others in the therapeutic setting for over 13 years. I have worked with clients experiencing a wide range of concerns including depression, anxiety, relationship dilemmas, parenting problems, family conflict, behavioral issues, life transitions, OCD, and ADHD. I have also helped many people who have experienced physical trauma and emotional abuse. In addition, I have worked in various academic arenas and taught at Daytona State College in the Behavioral and Social Sciences Department for over seven years. I have vast experience with both young and older adults in the college environment who have had personal, academic, and career concerns. I enjoy helping individuals to create a place of compassion and support so healing and change can begin. Balancing life’s pressures and demands can feel overwhelming! The struggle to keep up when experiencing setbacks and hurt can be quite challenging. I am experienced in working with individuals and families of all ages, sexual orientations, races, and cultural backgrounds and am passionate about creating a safe space to assist you in working through your obstacles and setbacks. My approach to therapy is holistic, humanistic, and interpersonal. I incorporate a variety of modalities to assist in your growth, with cognitive-behavioral and solution-focused techniques employed in my practice, primarily. Many of my clients describe me as laid-back, approachable, and compassionate. Please know that reaching out for help is a sign of self-awareness and strength! I would love to work with you and create some clear and concise goals, as well as strategies to attain your objectives. I am here to listen, support, and encourage you in a caring, respectful, and non-judgmental manner. Together, we will work to understand the origins of your overwhelming emotions, create some self-care practices for you, and develop coping skills to help you feel better. We will work towards your vision of happiness and contentment.
