I have been in the counseling/psychology field for 31 years, 27 of them as a psychologist for the State of New York. Currently I am in private practice, having specific experience working with parents who need help with the behavior of their children. Along with parenting skills, other areas of specialty are anger management, dealing with stress, phobias, sleep problems, as well as other disruptive habits and behavior problems that interfere with day-to-day life. I also specialize in working with people who have been diagnosed with autism, intellectual disabilities, and/or head trauma. My treatment, depending on the situation, may involve behavior therapy, exploration of the problem through talk therapy, and working together with the person to learn new skills. Typical skills to develop might be developing new thinking patterns, relaxation, meditation, interpersonal skills, and more.
