Spandana Maitra is a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) in the state of Texas and has experience in several different settings within the mental health/addictions realm. She received her Masters of Arts in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from the University of Texas at Tyler in 2020. Starting out working with low income populations, Spandana started out in acute inpatient behavioral health and fell in love with that setting. Due to the pandemic, she moved back to the DFW area and found her place working in PHP/IOP groups that focused on mental health and chemical dependency. Spandana has since had experience working in intake, assessment, utilization review, and residential treatment - but her favorite is simply creating a connection with others. She focuses on any life transitions, anxiety/OCD, eating disorders, depression, trauma, LGBTQ issues, and addictions of any kind. She also utilizes specialty techniques in her therapeutic process, such as sandtray therapy and expressive arts therapy, which can be requested by any client who is interested. In her spare time, Spandana enjoys traveling, has a special love for animals (especially dogs), reads practically anything she can get her hands on, and appreciates spin classes multiple times a week. Overall, her intention is to walk alongside you in your unique path in life, and help you create the changes needed for you to flourish.
