My name is Shannon (she/her) and I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in the state of Tennessee. I am hoping to help Find A Therapist clients with challenges they're experiencing related to aging, caregiving, coping with terminal illness, and grief. I am passionate about helping people navigate these complex and sometimes contradictory experiences, in both therapeutic and practical ways.

My approach to treatment is to meet folks where they are at, in an open and nonjudgmental space. I am skilled in working with people of all backgrounds and walks of life. I am a very firm believer in clinical boundaries, though I have been told that I exude warmth and make people comfortable. I utilize a combination of client-centered and strengths-based approaches. Mindfulness techniques are also very useful for me, as I help people understand and better connect to their emotions. I am an active listener, who looks for opportunities to normalize, validate, and reframe as necessary. I aim to help people utilize their internal and natural resources to cope with whatever particular challenge is most present for them that day.
