I am a Licensed Master Social Worker (LMSW) and have received training in various therapeutic approaches, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Play Therapy, Gottman Method, and Expressive Art Therapy. My professional experience encompasses working with individuals of all ages, including children, adults, couples, and families. My goal as a therapist is to create a supportive and non-judgmental environment, assisting you in your pursuit of peace and happiness. I was raised in a tumultuous environment, amidst family members grappling with chronic rare disease, alcoholism, and suicide. During my twenties, I made the decision to embark on a new journey by leaving South Korea and venturing to New Jersey for a fresh start. There, I actively sought assistance from therapists, peer support networks, and 12-step programs. As an international student and immigrant, I came to recognize the significance of culturally competent and bilingual health care. This realization propelled me to choose the path of becoming a therapist. For a decade, I served as an adjunct faculty member at Rutgers University and ASU, engaging with hundreds of college students across the East Coast and Southwest. This experience granted me a deep understanding of the issues confronted by young adults— depression, anxiety, trauma, and addiction. I possess significant proficiency in behavioral addiction research, harm reduction education, and mental health treatment.
