Hi, my name is Sarah and I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor. I received my Masters in Clinical Psychology from the University of Central Florida and my Bachelors in Psychology from the University of Central Florida. I have been working in the field since 2011 and have been supervising clinicians since 2014. I have worked with a wide range of client populations including children, adolescents, adults, and with the LGBTQ community. I worked as a clinical manager in a moderate risk department of juvenile justice program with a focus on substance use disorders and later I assisted in the development of a partial hospitalization program focused on mental health and substance use disorders for adult women. I have experience working with myriad problem areas such as depression, anxiety, trauma, grief, and self esteem. I have extensive training in motivational interviewing, cognitive behavioral therapy, dialectical behavioral therapy, and trauma focused-cognitive behavioral therapy. I pride myself on my therapeutic style being very client centered and flexible; I will do my best to adapt to your needs and preferences. I believe in treating others with compassion and respect and my counseling style reflects this in my interactive approach. Feedback that I have gotten from clients is they find me to be caring, empathic, and genuine. I am honest and direct and open to any feedback as we are working together about what is helpful and what is not helpful. I would love to work with you to assist you in accomplishing your goals!
