About

I have a PhD. in Counselor Education with an emphasis in Mental Health Counseling with a minor in Educational Leadership. I hold a masters in Counseling and I have my national licensure (NCC), state license (LPC) along with credentials to supervise trainees, and board certification as a tele-mental health counselor. I have been a practicing counselor since 2000. I have worked with a variety of diverse clientele addressing various concerns throughout the last sixteen years including trauma, abuse, neglect, domestic violence, grief, women’s issues, bullying, depression, anxiety, relationship issues, divorce, behavioral change and life transitions.

My clinical approach involves establishing a relationship with my clients that is warm, inviting, and provides connection as I seek to understand my clients' worldview, perspective, and personal experience. This is important since labels can be stigmatizing. I approach all clients in an effort to promote resilience, wellness, and work with clients to find ways to implement skills in their lives.

Personally, I have been married 28 years and have two wonderful children. I enjoy being outdoors, traveling, reading, writing, gardening, meditating, and learning new things.
