About

"Just remember, there are no quick fixes. But, by taking action just a little bit every day, you will build up a powerful reservoir of confidence, self-esteem, and discipline." - Scott Allan

Very true - self-discovery, acceptance, and healing is a process. However, in most cases, the first step is the hardest - beginning the journey. I know this first hand, as both a survivor and therapist. I can well relate to the daily challenges of 'managing' the lifetime impact of abuse. At times, it can be a day-to-day or minute-by- minute process; sometimes, even going weeks or months without experiencing that feeling of dread, or the 'heaviness' that comes with emotional pain. No matter the duration or pattern, the feelings are the same - self-doubt, insecurity, anxiety, depression, loss of appetite, insomnia, fatigue, loss of pleasure, monotonous daily routines, etc...

I believe in meeting you right where you are at that very moment; understanding your history, discovering your goals, and joining you on a path of recovery. Recovery, like grief, is very individual, different for each person, and without a set algorithm.

I am licensed in Alabama, Mississippi, and Louisiana, with over 30 years of professional experience. I assist others with discovery, growth, and development when addressing issues of stress, anxiety, depression, family conflicts, abuse, trauma, and anger management.

Throughout the last third of my career, I have added to my areas of specialty by focusing on men's health, more specifically, trauma in men. I work with my clients to create an open and safe environment where thoughts and feelings can be shared without fear of judgment.

Taking the first step to seek a more fulfilling and stable life takes courage. I am here to support you in that process.

Please note, that I'm available on a part-time per the Find A Therapist platform; this is in no way a reflection of my commitment to you or your concerns. Prior to our initial session, I will have you complete a psychosocial history, which serves to save time with initial data gathering, but allows for more meaningful discussions throughout our time together.
