About
Welcome!
I know taking the first step to becoming a better you can be difficult, but I want to commend you for arriving here! You might have reached out for services because you are looking for change or just need someone to validate and share your story with. Either way, I am here to support you. My name is Ronya Williams and I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with thirteen years of experience providing therapy services. I have worked in a wide range of settings such as: Cardinal Glennon Children's Hospital, Washington University Infectious Disease Clinic, Great Circle and Jennings School District. I work with client's affected by depression, anxiety, grief, trauma, stress, relationship issues, anger problems, abuse and family conflicts.
I was born and raised in St. Louis, MO. I received my bachelor’s degree in Social Work from the University of Missouri in 2006. I also received my master’s degree in Clinical Social Work from the University of Missouri in 2007.
I provide an atmosphere in which clients can communicate feelings with an awareness that they are being understood rather than judged. I meet clients where they are by going at their pace and allowing them to identify and prioritize their goals. I believe that clients are experts on their lives and should determine the direction and depth of therapy. I strive to take a collaborative and compassionate approach because I want the client to feel empowered and be a part of their treatment. I feel that building the therapeutic relationship throughout the course of treatment is essential for healing to begin.
I integrate various therapeutic modalities such as Cognitive Behavioral (CBT), Rational Emotive Behavioral (REBT), Grief Recovery, Problem Solving and Play Therapy to guide clients in identifying strengths and developing treatment plans to reach identified goals. The foundation of CBT and REBT is based on the premise that if you modify your thoughts and feelings it can have a positive impact on your behavior, problem-solving abilities and general well-being. I also practice as a Registered Yoga Teacher (RYT) and integrate mindfulness and meditation into therapy sessions as a means to reduce stress and anxiety.
Wherever you are in life right now, know I'm here to listen and support you. I'm excited to meet you and look forward to assisting you with reaching your goals!
