Hi!

My name is Peter Tsurkis. I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in the state of Illinois. Through my undergraduate and graduate training, I have worked with children, adolescents, and adults in various capacities ranging from at-risk youth to addiction. I have worked in the school, community, residential treatment, hospital, and nursing home settings. In my professional experience, I have worked with older adults and their families, compassionately working side-by-side to tackle all aspects related to the aging process. In my line of work, I frequently encounter individual’s struggling through the grief and dying process. I am confident that with my experience, you and I can weather the storm.

As the renowned psychiatrist and clinician, Irvin Yalom, once wrote, “…we are fellow travelers.” This term resonates with me because I firmly believe you do not need to face your struggles alone. Now, more than ever, we live in a world that is so connected, yet we tend to feel so alone. I also believe that we all have inherent strengths that we can harness. My approach in being a fellow traveler includes client-centered and strength-based modalities. Whether you are struggling with anxiety, depression, life changes, illness, or grief, I would be privileged to travel with you to help make sense of your challenges, goals, and aspirations to work towards a brighter tomorrow.
