As a psychologist with 20-plus years in the mental health field, I have worked with families and adults in various community-based settings. However, in the past few years that Covid has been around, I began my telehealth practice, retired briefly, and then decided to continue my practice with a focus on individuals and adults. While my theoretical approach is based on the tenets of cognitive behavioral therapy, in practical terms, I utilize cognitive/behavioral strategies, mindfulness techniques, and psycho-educational material in my work with patients. These strategies are applicable to common treatment topics such as stress management, coping skills, interpersonal skills, and emotional regulation. Upon exploring the strengths and challenges presented by motivated patients, I tailor therapeutic interventions to promote their growth toward improved emotional, social, and behavioral functioning.
