As a licensed mental health counselor, I believe that investing in your mental well-being is an important component in achieving happiness and stability. Seeking help can be difficult and challenging, so congratulations on moving forward towards taking the next step. I have worked with children, adolescents, and adults for over 15 years. In the last 5 years, I have shifted my focus to working with individuals ages 12 & up who struggle with depression, anxiety, & other mood related disorders. What is your approach to therapy? My approach to therapy is collaborative. I believe that each individual that I work with possesses many unique characteristics that call for an individualized treatment regime. I apply Cognitive Behavioral Therapy techniques as well as Solution Focused Therapy to facilitate and motivate change. What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you? I believe that developing a safe, trusting, and supportive relationship is the foundation of an effective therapeutic alliance between client and clinician. It is my overall goal to assist clients with gaining insight into their behaviors & actions, improve confidence & decision making, all while creating healthy boundaries and coping mechanisms.
