About
My name is Nickia Lowery and I am a Licensed Professional Counselor, author, and motivational speaker who provides expertise to media outlets, organizations, universities, and faith-based organizations in the areas of healthy relationship building, domestic violence and human trafficking. I earned a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Temple University, located in Philadelphia, PA in 2002. After spending some time raising my children, I went on to earn a Master’s of Human services and Counseling from one of the first historically Black Universities. Lincoln University of PA in 2012. I have extensive experience working in the area of forensic psychology with violent offenders including domestic violence and sexual offenders. As well as working with victims and their families who have been through divorce or contemplating divorce, domestic violence, human trafficking, childhood abuse and neglect, adoptions, adolescents with severe emotional disturbance and addictions. I am fully trained in batterer’s intervention, anger management, functional behavioral analysis, suicide prevention strategies, adoption competenices, multisystemic therapy, cognitive behavioral therapy and various trauma informed treatment modalities. In addition to my professional expertise I am a survivor of childhood sexual trauma and thriving after experiencing eight years in an abusive relationship. I have been able to use my experiences to empower others by bringing my authentic self into the room and offering perspectives with no judgement, but real insight into each and everyone of my clients and what they are going through. I welcome you to take this journey with me and let’s get started on your path to healing. I am excited to give you a safe place to process your feelings and make sense of whatever you are going through. Now let’s get started!
