About
Hi! I'm Misty. I take great pride in providing my community with high-quality, client-centered care, which means I work with you to establish a plan that works best for you! I have been successfully serving clients from the greater Sacramento area since 2011 when I started my first internship working at an inpatient rehab facility that served Veterans. I fell in love with my work. I graduated from the University of Southern California with my Master in Social Work with a concentration in Military & Mental Health in 2013. I became a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in 2016. I enjoy working with people who have experienced life to its fullest but sometimes need a little extra help. My approach I have experience working with issues like trauma & abuse, depression & anxiety, relationship issues, addiction, personality disorders, family/parenting conflicts, intimacy issues, grief & loss, Military/Veteran & many more mental health issues.?I use a client-centered approach - which means I work with you to figure out the best mode of therapy that works for you. I am competent in many different types of therapy, including Cognitive Processing Therapy for Trauma, Strength-Based Therapy, Solution Focused Brief Therapy, Positive Psychology Methods, Motivational Interviewing Methods, Mindfulness Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Positive Psychology, Humanistic and Psycho-dynamic Therapy. I am Certified in Dialectical Behavioral Therapy and have almost finished my certification in Trauma Therapy. My focus I guess I do not have an "ideal" client, as I believe that all people deserve well-qualified care. I can appreciate someone who is willing to come into therapy just to be heard, as well as the client who starts a session to understand a troubling diagnosis and ideally reaches stabilization and peace as a result. I love working with kids, teens, and any age adult, as everyone has something to share!
