Hi, I am Michelle Asby, a licensed counselor in the state of Missouri and Kansas. I have a private practice called Anchored in Hope Therapy, and I am happy to be part of Find A Therapist. I believe that there are multiple ways to seek help and Find A Therapist is offering a great innovative and new approach to counseling!

Coming to therapy is an enlightening and enriching experience that will provide you with new insight and skills to improve all dimensions of you. As a licensed clinical social worker and have spent the last 8 years working in a variety of mental health settings including community mental health, hospitals, and private practice. I spent a good portion of my clinical work in crisis response. I have a strong knowledge of police culture working alongside law enforcement & responding to people in crisis. My clinical experience has provided me with strong active listening skills, empathy, and compassion for all people of diverse backgrounds and circumstances. Prior to becoming a therapist I was a social worker for over 11 years working with children, youth, and seniors living in vulnerable inner city and rural areas providing afterschool enrichment and educational programming and support to families. I have been exposed to many diverse backgrounds and enjoy learning life story of others.

My clinical practice is a combination of talk therapy, cognitive behavioral therapy, mindfulness, coping skills development, and motivational interviewing to guide therapeutic change. Therapy is a collaborative relationship and personalized to meet your needs. My gift is listening, providing support, and understanding all while challenging you to be the best version of yourself.
