About

Hello and welcome. I have been a mental health counselor for nearly 8 years, and for over 40 years worked as an education professional prior to that. As a a career changer, I love my new profession! My work in counseling has been a variety of settings, from a domestic violence shelter to school-based health clinics, community health organizations, and in private practice. I am open-minded and relate well with adults and adolescents of all ages and walks of life, cultures, orientations, colors, and creeds. I have successfully helped clients empower themselves to heal from childhood trauma, severe traumatic incidents, overwhelming life stressors, grief, depression, anxiety, and to find better ways to solve life problems.

Listening compassionately, I help clients clarify and create goals for counseling that meet their needs and lead to healing and better well-being. My style is fairly informal, creating a safe space for client sharing and meaningful interaction, and for me to tailor our work to meet your needs. We will draw on different resources that can help you make heal or make the changes in your life that you have been wanting to make but until now just didn't have the support to know where to start.

I specialize in trauma recovery, and have extensive training and experience in EMDR, mindfulness, CBT, attachment, and associated therapies. This means that I can integrate different researched-based treatments that have proven to be effective in supporting change and healing. Going through big life changes or stressors and wondering how to navigate all the issues and obstacles that are presenting themselves? I can definitely help with that. Need to find balance between work and personal life, or to cahnge patterns that have stood in your way? Let's work together to do that. We can move as fast or as slowly as your comfort level and current life responsibilities allow.
