I am a Licensed Professional Counselor in the state of Texas with over 15 years of counseling experience. I have worked in a number of settings to include the Texas Department of Corrections, the Veterans Affairs Hospital's Residential Substance Abuse Program and Outpatient Mental Health Clinic, and Private Practice. I have worked with clients experiencing a broad range of mental illnesses to include Depression, Anxiety, Bipolar Disorder, Schizophrenia, PTSD/Trauma and Substance Abuse. I have also worked with clients who do not have a mental illness, but rather were seeking assistance in bettering their self-esteem, controlling their anger, or striving to improve their lives in a number of ways. I enjoy meeting my clients were they are at, and helping them to achieve the goals that they have for their life. I believe that people grow best when they are provided a non-judgmental and supportive environment; that is why I focus first on developing a meaningful relationship with my clients, and then provide evidence-based techniques to help them overcome life's obstacles.
