About
Hello! I can understand that it is difficult taking the first step to reach out for support and I am so happy you did! My name is Megan Bogue and I am a Licensed Professional Counselor in the state of Missouri. I earned a Masters of Education Counseling and have been working as a therapist ever since. I am a non-judgmental, open-minded therapist who believes that each client is an individual who deserves respect and compassion. I engage in client centered therapy that allows the client to direct and feel more involved in the therapeutic process. This allows me to connect with the client and, together, develop a treatment plan that will help them to foster the skills that they feel they need to achieve the goals.
I’ve worked with individuals who have faced significant trauma in their lives, those recovering from PTSD, and those who have had suicidal thoughts. I have had the pleasure of helping individuals with complete lack of self esteem and motivation find hope and grow confidence. I will be there to guide you, encourage you, possibly even challenge you if I feel you are unknowingly allowing obstacles to stand in your way.
My therapeutic style is very person centered depending on the individual needs and goals of that person. I feel that issues like depression or anxiety can be helped with cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT). I find dialectical behavior therapy (DBT) techniques to be useful in a counseling setting as well. My counseling style and approach really depends on the client and what best fits the situation. Person-centered therapy, CBT, and DBT have been my main approach and style.
Whether you are seeking change for a healthier happier life, or just need a non judgmental ear to listen, I am here to support and empower you. I look forward to working with you!
