About

Although life can present us with overwhelming and unexpected challenges, it also presents us with unexpected opportunities for healing and growth. It is during these times when an understanding and objective person can be helpful. My name is Maya Butler, and as a Board-Certified Professional Counselor, I work with individuals to assist them in gaining more control over their lives, emotions, thoughts, behaviors, spirituality, and relationships. My approach My clinical experience includes over 8 years as a Professional Counselor in community mental health centers for mental health and substance use disorders, psychiatric hospitals, and private practice. During these experiences, my central focus has been to utilize an eclectic therapy approach to assist individuals in creating and maintaining what they desire for themselves. Together, we will explore the underlying causes of problems in daily living, changing problem behaviors, habits, and thoughts, and discover better ways to cope with life's challenges. One aspect of being a Professional Counselor I take great joy in is being able to embrace, educate, and empower the individuals I work with to be who they desire to be. My focus I work with clients that have challenges with family conflict, grief, intimacy-related issues, parenting issues, career difficulties, depression, compassion fatigue, communication problems, emptiness, family problems, forgiveness, guilt and shame, isolation/loneliness, life purpose, men's issues, women's issues, and workplace Issues. My communication style During our therapy sessions, my central focus is to hear my clients share their experiences and utilize different therapeutic approaches to assist them in creating and maintaining what they desire for themselves. My journey to therapy I enjoy working with clients in a safe space that allows them to be who they are with no judgment. I look forward to getting to know more about people & working with them to become who you desire to be.
