Hello! My name is Mary Forrest-Wright and I am a Licensed Marriage & Family Therapist-Supervisor and Licensed Professional Counselor-Supervisor in Texas. I am also certified in EMDR, which is an evidence-based method for treating PTSD. I have a B.A. in Psychology/Sociology from Stephen F. Austin State University and an M.A. in Counseling/Marriage and Family Therapy from St. Mary’s University in San Antonio. I have practiced for over 20 years with people of all ages in the mental health field with clinical expertise areas that include anxiety, depression, grief, relationship conflict, stress, military life, veterans’ issues, life transitions, PTSD, sexual/physical abuse trauma, and parent-child conflict.

My approach to therapy is empathetic, supportive, and solution-focused. I like to work with my clients as a collaborative team and their feedback to me is crucial to the process of therapy. I am a trauma-informed therapist and I use an integration of Cognitive Behavioral Techniques, Mindfulness, and Solution-Focused Therapy. I focus on helping my clients to identify their strengths while challenging and changing any negative thought filters that might be holding them back in life. It takes courage to face change head-on and I am here to help support you in this journey.
