About

Are you tired of feeling anxious, constantly overthinking, feeling depressed, and finding it hard to focus? And you're ready for some relief and seeking a positive long-term change. Let me guide you to a deeper understanding of how to rewire your anxious brain to better control those intrusive thoughts and ease the anxiety and depression so you can live your desired life. I’m Dr. Martin, a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), National Certified Counselor (NCC), and I am a Certified Clinical Telemental Health Provider (CTMH). I received my Ph.D. in Counselor Education & Supervision at the Chicago School for Professional Psychology, Master’s in Clinical Counseling from Eastern Illinois University and my Bachelors in Psychology from Spelman College. I provide a unique perspective on minority issues, women issues, and young adult related issues. I specialize in helping high-functioning individuals manage anxiety and avoid burnout. My clients tend to be college students, recent grads, and working professionals, who are having difficulty navigating life’s stressors. On the outside, they are generally high-functioning (ex. excellent grades, good degree, good job, good relationship), but on the inside they are low-functioning (ex. anxious, depressed, codependent, and dealing with unresolved trauma). I help them find relief and healthier ways to manage their symptoms. I work with individuals who have social anxiety who are having trouble developing or sustaining friendships and other interactions. I assist individuals who are looking to change their lives for the better and unlearn negative ways of coping with life stressors. So, if you are struggling to adjust to life changes, have anxiety, depression or maybe you are a burnout mom or recent grad trying to find your place in the world, I can help you explore more positive ways of coping with life and assist you with rewiring your brain to get reconnected with yourself. I will teach you how to use mindfulness techniques and cognitive-behavioral techniques to help you manage your symptoms in the age of social distancing. Let me help you overcome your obstacles by learning how to rewire that anxious brain!
