About

My name is Danny Sammons, and I am a Licensed Professional Counselor in Texas and individually credentialed by the A.A.S as a QMHP-CS. and have certification in the clinical treatment of trauma and anxiety (CCATP). I have worked both in non-profit faith-based family ministry settings providing family and individual counseling as well as working in private mental health inpatient and outpatient facilities. My experience for the last three years as a clinical director (LPHA) has given me broad training and perspective in the area of suicide and crisis screening; including interventions and referrals for both inpatient and outpatient mental health/substance abuse treatment facilities. I graduated from Letourneau University with master’s degree for licensure in professional counseling and marriage and family therapy and have a bachelor’s degree in Christian Ministries/Biblical Studies. I have several years of experience working with geriatric psychiatric clients in both inpatient and outpatient settings. I also have extensive experience providing neurocognitive testing and assessments for executive functions in students of all ages. After spending 15 years in vocational family ministry work, I have enjoyed helping those struggling in the areas of self-esteem, self-harm, mood management for depression and anxiety issues. I also have spent the last seven years working with couples experiencing parenting and relationship issues, individuals dealing with anxiety, depression and self-harm as well as very acute suicidal and psychotic clients of all ages. I seek to provide counseling services utilizing proven methods and interventions from an authentic, open acceptance of the whole person, while concentrating on building rapport and open communications within a strong therapeutic alliance. From this point, I am hopeful for the prospect of addressing issues of concern in all areas of life including those of the mind, body, soul and spirit.
If you are interested in working towards a lifestyle that comes from a place of hopefulness, spiritual contentment, peace, open communication, solution focused with a positive acceptance of one’s self, I look forward to hearing from you.
