Hello! My name is Lina Lara and I graduated from Texas A&M University Kingsville in 2010 with a master of science. My focus was on clinical psychology programming with a thesis on attachment and emotional states. I have worked in the healthcare field since I began my internships in 2009 while pursuing my graduate degree. I became fully licensed as an LPC in 2015. I have worked with adults, adolescents and geriatrics. I have worn many hats over the years ranging from a case manager to a hospital administrator. I have worked in rural community centers, psychiatric hospital and federal outpatient programs. I have worked closely with the geriatric population and their families. I have ran groups for the past 7 years in a psychiatric hospital that focused on trauma, abuse, suicidal thoughts/attempts, addiction, depression, and stress. I have conducted individual therapy in both the inpatient and outpatient setting regarding various issues.

The approaches that I used are person centered therapy, solution focused therapy, cognitive behavioral therapy and reality therapy. I truly value a collaborative approach with my clients and believe in being their beacon of light during their darkest times.
