About
I am a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor and a Certified Drug and Alcohol Counselor. I have over 12 years of experience working with adults with co-occurring substance use and mental health disorders. I believe that recovery is possible for all people who are suffering, and I am passionate about helping my clients find peace and purpose in their lives. I use a variety of therapeutic approaches including Motivational Interviewing, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavior Therapy, and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy to name a few. I do my very best to individualize treatment and my style according to the unique needs of my client. I have experience working with the family members and friends of loved ones struggling with addiction and mental health concerns including anxiety, depression, bipolar disorder, schizophrenia, PTSD, personality disorders, and more. Many of my clients are survivors of significant childhood and adult trauma backgrounds, and I recognize the importance of addressing these areas with gentle care using a trauma informed approach. I have experience working with clients with an extensive legal history and can assist with identifying and altering the criminal and addictive thinking patterns which lead to undesired personal and legal consequences. I can provide my clients with tools to aid in relapse prevention, emotional regulation, and stress management. I have resources to assist clients with building a positive social support network, learning healthy coping skills, and improving their relationships and communication through conflict resolution, assertiveness training, and problem-solving.
My goal is to provide you with a safe and supportive atmosphere free of judgment. I encourage you to address your concerns at your own pace and you can expect an honest, compassionate, and warm response from me. I will walk you through what seems overwhelming, scary, confusing, and out of control and work hard to help you find peace, wisdom, clarity, and direction. My mission is for you to end our sessions feeling better than when we began. It is important to me that you feel heard, respected, and understood during our time together and that you leave my presence with useful tools and the confidence to move forward on your healing journey.
