About

Hi, I am Laurel Anne! I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in Georgia. I graduated from the University of Georgia in 2012, and have worked in outpatient, inpatient, and community-based mental health. My experience is primarily with adolescents, college students, and young adults.

I have a passion for working with college students and young professionals as they navigate the transition to independence: changing family roles, building new personal relationships, work and educational stressors, and clarifying and realistically considering life goals . I also have experience with pre-marital counseling, couples therapy, grief/loss, fertility issues, stress/anxiety, and PTSD.

My counseling style incorporates cognitive behavioral therapy and solution focused therapy. What does this mean for you? We will start counseling with your most immediate problem/concern - identified by you - and work together to create an initial plan to improve your feelings (solution-focused). On a more ongoing basis, we will look at how your own thoughts, behaviors, and biases may be contributing to your feelings and work to change any that might have a negative impact on you (cognitive behavioral). Your counseling will be unique to you! I will customize my approach to your needs at the time, and utilize your strengths throughout counseling to build the best foundation for your ongoing progress and future wellbeing. The goal is to heal and learn, so that you can have continued success once the counseling process is complete.

I strive to provide a safe, encouraging, and healing space for you. I offer chat, phone, and video sessions, to best match your style and needs. I have evening and Saturday availability for live sessions to best accommodate those with classes and jobs. I do my best to check messages twice a day, Monday-Saturday. I am unavailable on Sundays. Unfortunately, at this time, I do not offer sessions before 5:30 on weekdays.

If this sounds like a good fit for you, please reach out! This can be a scary first step, but I am here to help. I hope to hear from you!
