My name is Kristina Guarino and I'm a Licensed Clinical Social Worker. I have been working in this field for about 15 years. I received my undergraduate degree in psychology in 2005 from Missouri State University and I have a minor in gender studies. I then completed my Master's in Social Work in 2008 from the University of Missouri- Kansas City. I have training in trauma informed care, substance use, depression and anxiety, and grief and loss. My counseling approach is broad and depends on what the person I'm working with is going through but I tend to have a person centered approach overall. I believe that the first three sessions are the most important as this is when the therapist and client begin to build rapport and develop goals. I enjoy helping people be able to talk about what they are going through and get back to a place where they are feeling more like themselves again.
