About
My name is Dr. Katina Pittman. I am a Licensed Professional Counselor in Georgia with 16 years of professional work experience. I have experience in helping clients with stress, anxiety, and depression. I believe in treating everyone with respect, sensitivity, and compassion. I will tailor our dialog and treatment plan to meet your unique and specific needs. It takes courage to seek out a more fulfilling and happier life and to take the first steps towards a change. I am here to support & empower you in that journey. My approach My therapeutic approach changes based on the needs of each client. Some of the approaches I use are Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Solution Focused Therapy, and Person-Centered therapy. I believe that our thoughts, feelings, and behavior are connected. I work with individuals in identifying any underlying thoughts and expressing their feelings. Once we identify those thoughts the goal is to use cognitive restructuring to help replace those thoughts and improve feelings. I also educate on healthy self-care and coping skills to improve overall well-being. Clients who are struggling with problem-solving would be educated on effective problem-solving skills. My focus I work primarily with adults who struggle with everyday life stressors such as financial concerns, relationship struggles, family issues, medical concerns, job concerns, or other concerns. I also work with those who are feeling depressed, anxious, struggle with low self-esteem or body image issues. My communication style My communication style involves actively listening, being nonjudgmental, validating, and being empathic. I ask a lot of open-ended questions to help clients truly explore their thoughts and emotions and gain insight into their behavior. The goal is to establish a relationship built on trust and mutual respect where clients feel supported and empowered. I always strive to create a positive and supportive environment when working with clients.
