As counselor/therapist, I teach people how to take charge of their life. This can be done by understand that all problems are relationship problem weather with yourself or others. We can not control the external world. However we can take charge of our thoughts, actions and reactions which then lets us have indirect control over our emotional and physical responses. Yesterday is history, tomorrow a mystery but today is a gift that's why it's called the present. Understanding we can not change the past but learn to accept it lets one have mental health and happiness.
As an open minded and non judgemental person, meeting clients where they are at. Together we focus on building success with experience, strength and hope. Learning from the past, planing for tomorrow but remember the gift of the present.
Therapy/ Counseling is a process and I am here as a guild to support, encourage, provide good listen so that you can learn to negotiate difference from acceptance, trust and respect. These skills everyone has with in them but may not understand how to affectionately tap into them and use appropriately. Give yourself the change to learn something new.
My counseling theory is based around William Glasser's Choice Theory/Reality Therapy. With over 15 years of experience Katherine has developed and implemented treatment plans, acted as an advocate, and provided direct service to individuals and families. My education and qualifications are as follow's:
•Master’s in Arts from Lindenwood University in Professional Counseling, May 1999
•Licensed Professional Counselor for the State of Missouri, February 2004,
