About

Welcome! My name is Hunter and I am a Licensed Professional Counselor and National Certified Counselor here in Atlanta, Georgia. Thanks for considering me in this partnership that is therapy. Oftentimes, life is messy, complex, and challenging. Whether that’s because you’re experiencing heartache, grief, depression, anxiety, a life transition, trauma, identity issues, work stress, or a myriad of other challenges. I am here to provide a respectful and collaborative approach to working with you addressing these challenges and reaching a level of self-understanding and healing.

I approach therapy from a strengths-based approach – meaning we as human beings are doing the best we can with the tools that we have. A lot of my beliefs include helping clients name the problems they are facing, externalizing their mental health challenges, learning new skills and tools, and taking back control of their thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. I am processed orientated but also skills-based. Meaning it is important to understand and reach of level of acceptance of what you’re going through, discovering root causes, but more importantly learning how to cope and ultimately heal.

I have been trained in many evidence-based treatment modalities, interventions and frameworks including: narrative therapy, cognitive behavioral therapy, trauma focused cognitive behavioral therapy, cognitive therapy for suicide prevention, dialectical behavioral therapy, non directive play therapy, assessing and managing suicide risk (AMSR), and attachment, regulation, and competency (ARC). I have a background working with children and adolescents, young adults, adults, and LGBT identifying folk. Also, I have worked in a myriad of settings including outpatient clinics, schools, and hospitals.

Please schedule an appointment with me if you think that we would be a good fit. Let’s get through this journey

Currently, I am only accepting adult clients on a biweekly basis (preferred). Also, I am currently not accepting any clients that are currently or have a history of struggling with: suicidal thoughts, homicidal thoughts, mania, disordered eating, substance abuse, or psychosis.
