I am a licensed Clinical Psychologist in the State of Georgia with 17 years of psychotherapy experience. In the therapeutic process, I like to meet the client where he/she is and empower him/her to be active in his/her own recovery. Mental health recovery consists of helping the client to gain hope, engage in life on his/her terms, acquire personal autonomy, understand one's abilities and disabilities, find meaning/purpose in life, and develop a positive sense of self. Mental health recovery is a journey not a destination; a journey that may include both setbacks and successes.

To help the client navigate his/her journey to recovery, I tend to use an integrative approach to therapy, which means I utilize a multitude of treatment modalities to include Psychoeducation, Reality Therapy, Activation Commitment Therapy, Motivation Interviewing, Dialectical Behavior Therapy, Insight-Oriented Therapy, Person Centered Therapy, Psychodynamic Theory, Supportive Therapy, Behavior Therapy and Cognitive Behavior Therapy. I believe psychotherapy should be customized to fit the lifestyle, culture, education, gender, and preferences of the client. As such, it is important for the client to be open, honest, and willing to extend the therapy outside of the session.
