About

I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) based in Virginia, with 14 years of experience working with children, adolescents and their families; helping to make changes to improve their overall quality of life. I have worked with people challenged by depression, anxiety, trauma, abuse, and life stressors. My approach is solution focused, client centered, and strengths based drawing heavily from Cognitive Behavioral Theory. I am currently on Phase 3 of the Association of Play Therapy's 3 Phase Certification Program and use play therapy techniques in my practice (i.e. child-directed play interventions, use of toys in therapy, sand tray interventions, Bilbo-therapy, narrative interventions, therapeutic games, music interventions, expressive arts techniques, etc.).

When working with clients I strive to make the therapy experience fun, genuine, positive, respectful, and safe. I focus on the client-therapist relationship. I believe that the client is the "expert" and that you, the client have many strengths to overcome ANY situation.
