About
I am a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), a Licensed Chemical Dependency Counselor (LCDC), and a School Counselor with over 25 years of experience working in diverse settings, including drug and alcohol rehabilitation, psychiatric hospitals, residential placements, foster care, schools, inpatient and outpatient programs, and in private practice. I work with children, adolescents, adults, couples, and families, including blended and individual families, specializing in but not limited to anxiety, depression, and other mental health issues and diagnoses, addictions, dual disorders, anger and stress management, trauma, social anxiety, identity conflict, LGBTQ, parent-child, and relationship issues. My approach to counseling is to empower my clients by showing them that they are in control of their thoughts, and it is through these thoughts that behaviors and emotions are experienced. By working collaboratively together and providing them with tools, techniques, and resources for managing their problems, they can become successful in personal relationships, schools, and/or employment settings. I am extensively trained in trauma-focused cognitive behavioral therapy. I utilize Cognitive and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (Emotion Regulation) and Solution Focused Therapy as well as other modes of therapy tailored to the needs of my clients.
