I am licensed as a Licensed Professional Counselor in Missouri with 15 years of professional work experience. I have experience in helping clients with coping with developmental disabilities, addictions, LGBT-related concerns, personality disorders, schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, and depression. In the past I worked with youths and adults in both individual therapy and group therapy.

Professionally I have worked and volunteered for youth shelter programs, youth LGBT organizations, substance abuse centers, drug court programs, community support agencies, psychiatric hospitals, as well as health insurance agencies. Personally I have familial and social experiences with mental health concerns, sexuality and gender concerns, trauma concerns, violence concerns, and substance abuse concerns.

My therapy style tends to be eclectic including elements of Rational Emotive Behavior Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, Interpersonal Therapy, Cognitive Therapy, and Humanistic Therapy. Much of my experience has been on integrated care teams and I understand that the balance between life, work, health, and spirit can often be difficult to manage. While I do not personally follow any organized religion I have experience with many religions and can understand the importance and the impact of these beliefs.

Each person is an individual who has their own unique needs. Additionally there is a sense of collective- or universal-ness to many of our problems and you are not alone. I believe in treating everyone with respect, sensitivity, and compassion. You and I will work together to tailor our dialog and treatment plan to meet your unique and specific needs. Taking the first step to sign up for therapy can be difficult and at times intimidating, I am proud of you for getting started! Please be aware that session lengths on Find A Therapist are typically 45 minutes in length. I schedule my live sessions with 15 minutes between each session to catch up with messages and other tasks. I endeavor to be on time to each session. Occasionally I will have cancelations and you are always welcome to reach out to check on my availability.
