Hello! My name is Jennifer Simmons and I have worked in the mental health field for over 19 years. I have worked as a Licensed Professional Counselor for the past 10 years. I have worked with clients with a wide range of concerns including depression, anxiety, relationship issues, parenting problems, career challenges, and substance abuse. I have also helped many people who have experienced physical trauma or emotional abuse.

My clients have described me as non judgmental and real! I believe you have so many strengths within yourself that you aren’t even aware of. I want to help you uncover those strengths and learn to use them to face life's challenges and kick butt and take names. I will encourage you to stretch yourself to make the changes you desire for your life. Therapy works best when we can collaborate and develop a solid treatment plan together.

That may require some homework on your part. By homework I mean things like journaling, or filling out a worksheet, and integrating some new habits into your daily life. If you just read the previous sentence and your first thought was "Oh shit, homework that's not for me", then I may not be the best counselor for you. I can tell you that I will never assign something just for the sake of assigning it. It will serve a greater purpose with the intent of helping you reach your goals. My approach combines cognitive-behavioral, solution focused, and mindfulness. I will tailor our time together and treatment plan to meet your unique and specific needs.
