Hi, I am Jaquita Shorts and I'm a licensed marriage and family therapist and licensed professional counselor. My area of focus is family, relationship, and individual. My approach My theoretical approach is comprised of person-centered therapy, solution-focused therapy, and mindfulness skill training. My focus Clients that I typically work experience depression, anxiety, work-related stress, marital/relationship issues, and grief/loss. My communication style I'm working with my clients, my primary focus is to provide a safe space where they can open up and be vulnerable wholeheartedly without feeling judged or criticized. My journey to therapy Serving others drove me to this type of work because there is intrinsic satisfaction and personal reward in helping others navigate through life's uncertainties. My goals for you At the outset of our first counseling session, we will collaborate together to develop a treatment plan to address goals and objectives. Within 3 months, we will reassess the goals to determine if there has been progress or regression. After which, we will modify it if needed. My first session with you The first session will be our informal meet and greet. I will complete a mental health assessment and there will be opportunities for questions asked by the client.
